Beyond Jabs, Gyms and Guilt: What Real Health Coaching Looks Like
Aug 04, 2025
Everywhere I look, I’m seeing ads for weight loss injections.
Every other headline talks about obesity, hormone shifts, or another 'miracle' fix for the modern body.
And in the middle of all that noise?
There are people, real people, feeling broken, ashamed, and overwhelmed.
People who’ve been dismissed by doctors, sold generic fitness plans, and told to just “try harder.”
That’s not coaching. That’s harm in disguise.
At Omni, I work with those who’ve been told they’re too complicated to coach.
Those navigating chronic illness, perimenopause, joint pain, fatigue, and fear.
People who want change, but feel like the system isn’t built for them.
So let’s break this down honestly.
Weight Loss Injections: Not All Good, Not All Bad
GLP-1 medications like Wegovy and Ozempic can help.
They’re a medical advancement; especially for those with obesity or diabetes.
I’ve coached clients who use them, and we work together to protect their muscle mass, energy, and mindset while they’re on them.
But the issue isn’t the jab... it’s that it’s often the only option offered.
Here’s what’s missing from the conversation:
-
These meds suppress appetite, not nutritional education.
-
They promote weight loss, not metabolic health.
-
And when people stop, the weight often comes back, along with guilt and shame.
That’s why real support must include:
✅ Tailored movement
✅ Strength training
✅ Nervous system regulation
✅ Honest mindset work
✅ Community connection
Medication can be part of the journey... but it’s not the destination.
What’s Really Stopping You from Changing?
This is the bit the ads and influencers won’t tell you:
Change isn’t hard because you’re weak; it’s hard because you’re human.
When someone says, “I just need to get my act together,”
I ask them what’s actually in the way.
And usually, it’s:
-
Joint pain
-
Exhaustion from work, kids, or caring responsibilities
-
Fear of failing (again)
-
Hormonal chaos
-
Mental health struggles
-
Low confidence
-
A deep belief that they’re not ‘that type’ of person
I’m here to say: you can’t bully your body into feeling better.
But you can build health from where you are; slowly, compassionately, sustainably.
I help clients with health conditions find their own version of fitness.
And I help them stick with it.
Because it’s not just about moving more... it’s about moving with meaning.
The Power of Community and Real-Life Connection
Last weekend, I hosted a retreat day for some of my clients.
We swam in freezing cold water and enjoyed a 100 degree sauna.
We did yoga.
We sat in silence and in laughter.
And we shared where we’re at; mentally, physically, emotionally.
One of my favourite moments?
A client turned to me and said, “I’ve never felt so seen.”
That’s the magic I want to bring more of.
Online coaching will always be a part of Omni but I’m leaning deeply into in-person experiences, collaborations, and community building.
Because healing doesn’t happen in isolation.
It happens when we’re surrounded by people who get it.
People who remind us we’re not alone.
Final Thoughts:
If you’ve ever thought:
“I’m too far gone.”
“It’s too complicated now.”
“My body’s not built for this.”
You are exactly the kind of person I created Omni for.
This isn’t just about weight or workouts.
It’s about regaining trust in your body, peace in your mind, and energy for the life you want.
If you're ready to take that first step,
DM or email me the word SUPPORT or reach out via my website.
We’ll find a way forward, together.
