Why I Resisted The Pause and How It Changed Everything
Jun 24, 2025I didn’t want to stop. Not really. Not properly.
Even when life gave me every reason to pause, I resisted.
Because pausing felt like failure.
When my partner’s business was defrauded, it flipped both of our lives upside down. I stepped in to help him hold things together, thinking it would be temporary; a week or two at most.
But weeks became months. My own business, Omni, had to take a back seat.
And I’ll be honest... I hated it.
At first, I fought the stillness. I worried that if I stopped posting, coaching, marketing, showing up online, it would all fall apart. I thought I’d lose momentum. That people would forget me. That I’d lose the identity I’d worked so hard to build.
But that resistance was the first clue that something wasn’t right.
I Was Afraid to Stop Because I Didn't Know Who I Was Without the Hustle
If I’m honest, I’d been stuck in “doing mode” for a long time.
Always producing. Always pushing. Always trying to keep up.
Underneath it all, I was afraid. Not just of falling behind, but of what I’d find if I actually stopped long enough to feel.
And yet… when I finally surrendered to the pause, everything changed.
The Pause Wasn’t a Setback. It Was a Return.
I didn’t immediately start planning a comeback. I didn’t map out a 90-day relaunch.
Instead, I went back to basics. To the things that ground me. That anchor me.
-
I started journaling every morning again — just a few quiet pages before the kids woke up.
-
I got back into consistent movement — not for performance, but for peace.
-
I woke up early to drink coffee in silence and breathe before the world got loud.
-
I walked without my phone. Listened without reacting. Let the discomfort wash over me.
And slowly, day by day, I felt more like myself than I had in a very long time.
The clarity didn’t come in a sudden epiphany — it came in the stillness of structure.
In the safety of routine. In the absence of noise.
I Started Asking New Questions
Without the pressure to perform, I had space to ask myself the questions I’d been avoiding:
-
What kind of work do I really want to do?
-
What kind of life do I want to live while I do it?
-
What does aligned success actually look like; in my body, not just my bank account?
The answers surprised me. Because they didn’t sound like Instagram strategy or launch timelines.
They sounded like connection.
Like community.
Like creativity.
Like coaching that actually makes a difference; not just checks a box.
Online Coaching Will Always Be Part of Omni; But Only Part
For years, Omni has lived mostly online. Coaching via my apps and online software, hosting group chats, showing up on Instagram, launching programs from my phone.
There’s so much I’ve loved about that. And it’s not going anywhere... not completely.
But what I’ve realised is that the screen can only hold so much.
And I need more.
I need real connection.
I need face-to-face coaching.
I need in-person events where people walk in feeling lost and walk out remembering their power.
I need to collaborate with people who are also trying to make a difference.
I need to use my voice; not just my content.
I need to build impact, not just income.
What Comes Next Will Be Built From the Heart Out
Omni is evolving. So am I.
I will still coach online. I’ll still send emails and write and speak and share. But now, it’s part of a bigger picture; one that’s more grounded in who I truly am.
From this point on, everything I create will be guided by one simple question:
Does this make me feel like I’m truly making a difference?
If the answer is yes, I’m all in.
What to Expect Moving Forward
You’ll still hear from me, but with more clarity and purpose than ever before. Here’s what I’m focusing on now:
✨ In-person coaching & workshops
✨ Collaborations that feel aligned and expansive
✨ Daily routines that support me before I support anyone else
✨ Raw, unfiltered content that doesn’t play by algorithm rules
✨ A renewed commitment to health, longevity, and empowerment
And most importantly, I’m no longer building my business around pressure or hustle.
I’m building it around meaning.
Because when I feel aligned, structured, and energised, I serve better. I lead better. I live better.
If You’ve Felt This Too…
If you’ve ever hit pause and felt guilty for it…
If you’ve ever questioned everything but didn’t have the words for it…
If you’re craving more real in your work, your health, your life…
I see you.
This next chapter of Omni is for us; those who are done pretending and are ready to build something that feels like home.
Let’s create something meaningful... together.
